I always thought that Tucker Carlson pursued the low road of inuendo and unsubstantiated rumors, to gain popularity, and the Putin interview proved it. Firstly, it wasn’t really an interview where the interviewer asks the interviewee questions that probe the subject of the interview as to what and why, asks him to justify his actions, uses the questions to clear up lingering questions, and presses him on the tough subjects. Items such as his enormous loss of lives totaling almost 500,000 human beings along with 11,000 pieces of military equipment at this point, as well as all the war crimes he has ordered.

Tucker got suckered as well as mocked. He got an over two-hour lecture from Putin made up of historic fairytales about Russia and Ukraine which was pure Putin fantasy.  Russia and Ukraine started at different times in history. Ukraine around the 9th Century, when the Kievan Rus state was led by a Viking of the Rurik dynasty until Vladimir the Great, grand prince of Kyiv (Ukraine), consolidated his empire to include Ukraine, Bulgaria, and the Baltics as his domain.  Later there was a great deal of Byzantine influence. Moscow did not exist until the early 13th century. The early roots of Ukraine existed four hundred years before the early beginnings of Russia which was a loose association of Mongols that were marauding groups of warriors and criminals. Kievan Rus did disintegrate into multiple smaller territories dominated by Byzantine, Polish, and Baltic nationalities at various times.  In 1917 a chaotic period ensued. In 1922 the Ukrainian Bolsheviks defeated the Kyiv national government and became one of the several founding republics of the Soviet Union, establishing Ukraine as a separate entity. Then Stalin affirmed Ukraine as independent culturally and with their own language. In 1932 that all changed with Russification. The Ukrainian language was abolished. Millions of Ukrainians were murdered through executions and starvation (the Holodomor). Schools were forbidden to teach or speak the language. It was not until the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991 that Ukraine became independent again. Putin is making up phony history as verified by multiple real historians and linguists.

Ukraine does have some commonalities in historic evolution, language, and traditions, but just like Germany and Austria, Spain and Portugal, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark they are not the same. And 92.3% of the Ukrainian population voted to be an independent nation. Is it not the right of people to choose if they want to be an independent country? Does a dictator of a foreign nation have the right to decide for 41 million people to what nation they should belong, and then proceed to achieve that goal through armed force?

Tucker is a Putin sycophant who mouths Putin’s propaganda. Calling Tucker a “useful idiot to Putin” is doing an injustice to all those “useful idiots” who have gone before. Tucker was dumbfounded when Putin tried to embarrass him when he pointed out that the CIA had rejected him after he attended Trinity College for four years but never accumulated enough credits to graduate. Tucker’s father suggested he should become a journalist and as he said, “They will take anybody.” The CIA ostensibly rejected him because he was too gabby and insubordinate, which are not traits desirable in a semi-secret organization that oversees national security.

So, who is Tucker Carlson really? He failed, by most people’s standards, from achieving a successful education by not graduating from college, failing to get a degree, and reaching his career goal of getting into the CIA. He does have the “gift of Gab” but managed to alienate his employer, causing a parting of the ways, and leaving on bad terms. Most likely because his talent led him to contribute significantly to Fox losing a $787.5 million dollar lawsuit. Although he articulates the conservative view point with great skill, he has gone over to the dark side by supporting Putin, the modern version of Adolf Hitler, ignoring his evil side, failing to point out his murderous actions against his opposition, destroying his country financially, killing off half a million people, mostly men, destroying over half of their military armaments, destroying a sovereign country on rather spurious un-documentable  reasons, intentionally targeting civilians, non-military infrastructure, hospitals and schools, breaking dozens of signed treaties and agreements, destroying the world order, and using war crimes and eco-crimes to do so. Putin is the unquestionable enemy for several reasons, not the least of which is that we are in an armed conflict with him even though we do not have boots on the ground, and he has threatened us multiple times with the use of nuclear weapons! Supporting the enemy is usually called treason.
