I have always been to the right of center. My parents were almost erased by Stalin, then Hitler, who was really the Socialist he claimed to be in his Second Book ( Dass Zweite Buch). Socialists own the means of production by the definition of what a socialist society is. Although Hitler did not own the means of production, he controlled them, which is almost as good.  
     Here is my dilemma. The choice is unfortunately going to be Trump or Biden, both clearly not qualified for the highest office in the United States and, by extension, the most important job in the world. Biden, I am sorry to say, is too old. I have no doubt that he is in the early phases of dementia. He is also a politician who has opened the borders, who is for higher taxes, who wants to deny my daughter the inheritance of my family farm because he will tax her out of her rightful share at my demise and what I have worked for all my life.       
      I have been asked if a physician can really diagnose disease without having examined the patient, also known as the famous Goldwater rule. The signs are so clear that the Goldwater rule does not apply and would conflict with the duty to inform. If, as a professional, an individual knows someone will harm the nation, he or she has a duty to tell. But dementia is not as harmful as delusional, paranoid behavior, which is the psychopathology that Donald Trump has.
     I voted for Trump two times before. After he lost in 2020, he showed a side of him that was not visible to me then. He is not well mentally! Trump does not care whom he hurts, be it a woman in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room or the daughter of a Judge he doesn’t like. He has no empathy and no filters on his behavior. As Liz Chaney said, “ We can survive four years more of Biden, but we may not survive four years of Trump!” John Bolton, his former National Security Adviser, said, “He is too dumb to be a dictator!” But I am not so sure that it takes all that much intellect to be a dictator. He was one for most of his life! And Hitler did OK for over a dozen years despite his erratic behavior and drug addictions.       
     Biden is not capable of running the country. But he has the sense to surround himself with capable advisers who are mostly pretty smart people, unlike Trump, who will surround himself with “yes men and women” who will be sycophants agreeing with everything Trump says and does. Trump will not have the caliber of people he had in his first term. They will be the loyalists, and the people he is going to pick in this round are not going to be buffers like his first-term advisers. If they don’t agree with him, he will fire them faster than in his first term! He has shown us he can do so, as he has done to 92% of all his previous staff.         
     Keep in mind that Trump will control the nuclear button! And will pull us out of NATO, something that most realize is a colossal mistake. Trump will take away all the funding from Ukraine. That is how he will end the war. Putin is a vicious tyrant who kills his competitors and considers Trump a “useful idiot,” not a friend. If Putin succeeds in Ukraine, he will not stop there. His minions have said as much. Nuking Paris and London are not off the table, which is something they keep announcing over and over. And what would stop Putin from attacking us? It would not be his friendship with Putin. All the books that have been written about Trump point to his ignorance of history, geography, and world politics. Even his co-author, Tony Schwartz, in his book “The Art of the Deal” is now critical of Trump and his inability to make the deal without deceit and dishonesty.

            What about a third-party candidate? RFK or Nikki Haley wrote that, unfortunately, it would give Trump the advantage, according to all the pundits. Think about it: who would be more likely to launch World War III, sleepy Joe Biden or the former president who invites Putin to “do with NATO whatever he wants” and who can’t even control himself from throwing a fully loaded BigMac at the walls of Mar-a-Lago when angry?
